St. Paul
St. Paul tells the story of his dramatic conversion from helping to kill Christians to being one of the greatest teachers of Christianity. After being called by Jesus on the road to Damascus: “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me?” he was temporarily blinded for 3 days during which time he was infused with the knowledge that Jesus had taught His apostles during His time with them. He was probably the first one to write about Jesus’ teaching because he wrote letters to his converts as he traveled and baptized through Asia Minor and Europe. He was a Roman citizen and Jewish. His name is both Saul and Paul, depending on language. He called himself a “servant of Christ, Jesus.”
