Fr. Arouje was ordained in India after completing his studies in the Pontifical University and Papal Seminary, Pune. He holds a Licentiate in Philosophy (L. Ph.) and a Licentiate in Theology (S. T. L.) from the Pontifical University and a Master in Science (M.Sc.) from the State University of Kerala, India. As professor for eleven years he taught biology and physiology in the University of Kerala. During those academic years of teaching he also carried out pastoral ministry in the churches entrusted to him.

After arrival in the United States he worked as parochial vicar for two years in a parish and afterward he was appointed Director of Campus Ministry at California State University, Stanislaus. Fr. Arouje spent fifteen years in Turlock where he shepherded All Saints Community, eventually overseeing the building of  a facility that became All Saints Church - University Parish.  Later he worked as the pastor in a Stanislaus parish, Modesto,  and now is serving as pastor at St. Andrew's.

Deacon Mark Caruso grew up in Sacramento and is one of seven children. He graduated from California State University, Sacramento, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts, and subsequently obtained a California teaching credential and for the past 22 years he has dedicated himself to teaching special-needs children, the last 16 years at Jenny Lind Elementary School outside of Valley Springs.

He married his wife Mary at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in 1988 and in 1995 they moved to Valley Springs. They have three daughters. Since being in St. Andrew’s Parish Mark has taught Religious Education and Confirmation classes. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of various parish committees.

Mark was ordained on September 23, 2017 as a permanent Deacon in the Stockton Diocese.  His wife Mary intimately particpated with Mark in the diaconate formation program.

​Deacon Mark states that he “wants to share in the mission of the Lord Jesus Christ, and proclaim God’s love for all people through word and action…”
