St. John the Evangelist
St. John the Evangelist: St. John was known as the “one Jesus loved” and was the author of one of the Gospels, three Epistles and Revelation. He, along with his brother James, were called the “Sons of Thunder” by Jesus. Their mother asked Jesus to have her sons sit at His left and right hands when He came into His kingdom. He is the only apostle who lived to an old age and died a natural death. He is also the one who Jesus entrusted the care of His mother from the Cross as He was dying.
